3rd stage in mosul medical college

hello all of you, I miss the BLOG world and all my internet world it was very long time since I have write any post in my blogs. We had moved to new house and we still waiting till we get the internet service in our new house, the house is really comfort and every thing is elegant but we are facing problems with establishing net connection.

this new year I become officially 1/2 doctor

this year (3rd stage at medical college) is so funny and I am enjoying my time in the college and in the hospital. We are learning how to get communication with patients and trying to relieve some of their pain by nice words and good treatment and in the same time try to rich the level of knowledge in which we can heal some one.

Today it is raining heavely in Mosul/Iraq and I went to the college network to write to you this short post.

I will write another post as soon as I could and I wish you nice day without raining.

Being in the Ibn Sina hospital and relieve patients in Mosul

I have good news about Dr. Muzahim Al Khayat dean of mosul medical college had recovered but he still have some complaints ( to know about whats happened to Dr. Muzahim Al Khayat visit this post and see the comments )This week was amazing I went to Ibn Sina hospital in mosul (General hospital) to take history from some patients and communicate with them. I needed to go to the 5 floor and saw young girl has renal failure and she is only 16 year old, she lives in small village, when she was 4 years old she lost both of here kidneys due to polluted water and she got new kidney from here mother, but now her body is rejecting the kidney and she has to do dialysis every week.

I asked her if has ever gone to school and she said that she had been left the school when she was 11 years old because of her disease. Also she had hypertension due to her renal failure because the kidney isn't functioning well. I tried to make her smile anyhow and to make her feel better.


I met another old woman (80years old) who suffer from her heart, she had angina from 3 months and she was refusing to come to the hospital because she afraid from needles, I was with my friend and we were talking to this old woman and she was very welcoming.

I had also bought new stethoscope from MDF by 20$ and it is really good one.

10 days in mosul city and Duhuk

Just now at 7:32 am of october , 02 , 2009 big explosion happened in mosul city I don't know where but I can tell you that it is big one because of its loudness also few shots are heard and no one in the street nexk to us. "It is really scary when you be in such situation and you won't feel it till you experience to be it war and you wouldn't hear the shot that will kill you. " this how are many people in Iraq thing and live every day to be not afraid from shots or explosions voice.

Last 10 days were filled with many events, my family and I we to Duhuk twice and we bought new furnitures to our new hosue and we went to Dream city in duhuk it is good place if you want to enjoy the GREEN of nature.

The schools and medical college of mosul started in 27/09/2009 and the first day was long day I couldn't wait till 12pm so I back to home. The college uniform will be blur jaket and gray skirt with white shirt.

eid ul fitr start sunday 20 september 2009

I'm very happy tomorrow is first day of eid al fitr, happy eid to all people, tomorrow sunday 20/9/2009 will be first day of eid in Iraq (sunni) , Saudi Arabia , Lebanon, Syria , Qatar , Bahrain, Kwaite , Turkey , United Arab Emirates , Oman , Jordan , Yemen

I just heard the cannon declaring beginning of eid, the eid holiday in Iraq will be from sunday 20/9 till wednesday 23/9

Eid al fiter 2009 on Iraqi traditions

When Eid al fitr start ?
Eid al fitr start after ramadan month end. It is 3 days, Eid al fitr remarks that the muslims had completed the fasting ( which is 30 or 29 fasting days according to sight of crescent ). Eid al Fitr is also called ( small eid ), people wearing new beautiful clothes and greeting each others with finishing the fasting. The common greeting ( Blessed Eid ) or ( happy eid) and wishing happiness to every one.

Eid fitr traditions in Iraq
at the first morning ( 7:20 am ) all muslim men go to mosque to do Eid prayer and when they come back to home after an hour all the family members are awake and have prepaired the breakfast and the children waiting for "edania" ( parents give money for the children so they go to buy toys and chocolates and to go to blay in see saw and to have fun.

Then the family goes to the grandfathers house and gathering with the relatives and having good time, the grandfathers give children money also.

And the family visits the relatives and builds happy bonds between families. This what give the Eid its flavor of happiness and joy.
